Ears open: SPRYLAB goes Podcast

Juliana Mani

Journalism is about good stories, relevance and the right timing: Is the topic current? How much interest will the story attract? This applies to reports in print as well as on the web. With one small but significant difference: Anyone who puts content on the web today has to deliver more than good content. Unfortunately, that is no longer enough. Users and readers have to find their way to the site, stay there and, best of all, subscribe to the medium.

Journalism is about good stories, relevance and the right timing: Is the topic current? How much interest will the story attract? This applies to reports in print as well as on the web. With one small but significant difference: Anyone who puts content on the web today has to deliver more than good content. Unfortunately, that is no longer enough. Users and readers have to find their way to the site, stay there and, ideally, subscribe to the medium. Audience development makes this possible. The competition is fierce. But what strategies do publishers use to retain users? Why do some succeed better while others are still experimenting?

So complex and still no end in sight

The topic of audience development is complex and still not finished. On the contrary: if social circumstances force you to move even more in the digital world than before, what happens to the users? Is something changing, and if so, what and how can publishers react quickly?

Purple explores these questions in a "Deep Dive Audience Development". In cooperation with the podcast "We Like Mags", hosts Christian Kallenberg, creator of "We Like Mags", and Benjamin Kolb, CEO, founder and CTO of Purple, talk to publishing industry insiders.

Deep dive with insights from the industry

But who talks openly and honestly about strategies, best and worst practices and learnings? Important and helpful information that interests everyone in the industry. However, hardly anyone dares to report openly about it, as the competition never sleeps.

The hosts Christian Kallenberg and Benjamin Kolb have invited top-class interviewees for their "Deep Dive Audience Development" and the moderators have succeeded in eliciting important insights from the interview partners that stimulate and perhaps even inspire.
