Purple expands partner network with Kordiam for content planning

Newsrooms today face mounting efficiency pressures while managing content across an ever-growing number of channels. For two years now, numerous joint customers have successfully used the bidirectional integration between the content planning tool Kordiam and our Purple editorial system. Now we're deepening this partnership and expanding our network of specialized partner solutions. The connection enables seamless workflows from initial story ideas through to publication and is already successfully deployed at joint customers such as OM Medien and Börsen-Zeitung.

Our deepened partnership with Kordiam delivers seamless workflows, less manual work, and more time for editorial content – with zero additional development effort.

Automated Synchronization Between Planning and Publishing

The integration connects two specialized systems that complement each other perfectly. With Kordiam, you coordinate your editorial workflows from strategic planning through short-term scheduling to task management. Our editorial system serves as the central hub for your content creation and distribution across all digital channels.

When your newsroom plans a story in Kordiam, it's automatically created as an article in our system, including all relevant metadata such as publication status, target audience, and publication date. Changes synchronize bidirectionally: stories and metadata created in Purple Hub are automatically transmitted back to Kordiam. Both systems always display the same current status, ensuring your newsroom works with a single, consistent data foundation.

The integration completely eliminates manual data transfers between systems. Instead of entering information twice, your newsroom works with synchronized data. This not only reduces errors from duplicate entries but also gives your editors noticeably more time for content work.

Your coordination of freelance contributors is also measurably simplified: assignments sent via Kordiam contain a direct upload link. When freelancers upload their content, it automatically lands in our editorial system without you having to grant them full system access. You receive structured content, maintain control over your publishing system, and eliminate complex rights management for freelance editors.

How the Technical Integration Works

In daily operations, practically nothing changes for your editors. They continue planning their topics and assigning tasks in Kordiam as usual. As soon as a story is released for production, it's already available as a prepared article in our editor.

According to Kress Pro, Kordiam is the most widely used planning tool in German-language newsrooms and supports over 250 brands worldwide in content coordination. References include renowned media houses such as The Times, Mediahuis, and Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Deepening this partnership is part of our consistent expansion of our partner network. This best-of-breed approach enables you to use the optimal solution for each requirement, seamlessly integrated into your Purple Hub.

Benjamin Kolb, Co-Founder and CTO of Purple, sees strategic added value for joint customers in the deepened partnership: "The combination of our solutions creates even greater continuity in editorial work. Each system does what it does best: Kordiam coordinates planning and workflows, we handle creation and publishing. The successful integration over the past two years has shown that our customers greatly appreciate this. Now we're taking the next step and deepening this partnership further. This creates real efficiency gains for publishers with complex workflows or large editorial teams."

Robert Dönges, Partner and Integration Manager at Kordiam, emphasizes the benefits of the strengthened collaboration: "The deepened partnership with Purple demonstrates how modern publishing infrastructure works – specialized systems that communicate seamlessly and together create more value than the sum of their parts. For media companies, this means less manual work and fewer potential errors. We're continuously expanding this integration and look forward to supporting even more publishers and companies in their digital transformation together with Purple."
