kress pro Market Overview 2026: Purple Among the Top 3 Full-Service Providers
kress pro has once again surveyed the most important digital service providers and software vendors for media companies in 2026. In the full-service provider category, Purple ranks third. For us, this is above all a validation from the publishers who work with Purple every day. We would like to thank them for that.

What lies behind the placement
For the market overview, kress pro asked digital service providers and software vendors about their customers in the publishing sector. The selection was based on earlier kress pro surveys among publishers. Customers are defined as media in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that use a provider for their digital offering. What counts is actual use in day-to-day operations, not self-reported features. That is what makes the placement meaningful to us: it reflects real demand from newsrooms and publishing houses.
For the overview, kress pro compiles a list of publishers to which the providers assign themselves. For Purple, the list names Axel Springer, Bauer, Berliner Verlag, Burda, Delius Klasing, Funke and JDB Media, among others. As new customers over the past twelve months, kress pro lists Deutsche Medien-Manufaktur, Meininger Verlag, Schweizer Agrarmedien and VDI Verlag. In total, more than 60 publishers with over 600 newspaper and magazine titles across ten countries rely on Purple for content creation and publishing, from local publishers to international media companies.

A validation of our mission
This placement reinforces what we have set out to do: to support publishers with an AI-native publishing platform on their path through digital transformation. Purple enables newsrooms to create content once and deliver it across website, app, e-paper and further channels. In this way, Purple fits into existing ecosystems and delivers fast results for editorial teams.
A strong platform needs a strong environment. More than 40 integrations connect Purple with specialised solutions for print automation, paywall, analytics and community management. Several of our partners also rank highly in their respective categories in the kress pro overview. Anyone working with Purple is therefore also working with a reliable network of proven providers.
From fourth to third place
Purple last appeared in the overview in 2021, then in fourth place. In the years since, we did not take part. That makes it all the more pleasing that we have improved to third place in this edition.
